Dutch spammer gets $97,000 fine
A Dutchman has been fined €75,000 (over $97,000) for a 14-month spam campaign thought to be behind over 9 billion spam emails.
The man, whose name has not been released, controlled spam flooding from US-based zombies, sent to email addresses also gathered from US sources. Much of his spam was advertising, again on behalf of foreign companies.

Biggest 419 bust in history | 310 scammers nabbed
The FBI and Spanish police have arrested 310 people in Malaga, Spain in connection with a €100m bogus (email) lottery scam run by Nigerian gangs. It is the biggest 419 bust in history, and may result in drastic reductions of scam mails.
The operation, codenamed Nile, centered on a mob which operated from Southern Spain. No less than four hundred officers from the Spanish police, the FBI and the US Postal Service were involved with the investigation, which began in 2003.
